A home for Runway and Sylva

Dotmy now has a front door. This website brings together the projects I’m building, with a place for notes as they take shape.

There are two projects here to start with: Runway and Sylva. They work on different problems, but both begin with wanting to see something a little more clearly.

Runway: money, seen in time

A bank balance tells you how much money you have. It takes a little more work to understand how much time that money gives you.

Runway starts with that question. Its public website has a personal financial runway calculator: enter savings, investments, monthly income, and monthly spending, then explore how long the money might last under those assumptions. You can also see what changes if your income stops.

The calculator is available now. The full app is still in development, and there’s a waitlist on the project site. For the details behind the estimate, the site also has a methodology page.

Sylva: room for connected ideas

Some ideas fit into a list. Others need room: a sketch beside a note, a thought connected to another thought, a detail you want to explore without losing the bigger picture.

Sylva is a canvas project I’m building around that kind of thinking. It is still in development. There isn’t a public app release to try yet; the website is a simple coming-soon page.

I’ll share more as the project takes shape, with a clear distinction between what you can use and what I’m still working on.

What belongs on this blog

The individual project websites are the home for product details and guides. This blog is the space between them: project updates, design decisions, and useful things learned while making the apps.
